Previously I served as a Captain which I was in charge of station duties and am the first line officer within theFire Department structure. On fire scenes if I am first to arrive I will make tactical decisions based on my findings and relay that information to arriving crews and Chiefs. On medical calls I coordinate and lead patient care as well as documentation. As the department recruiter I am responsible for attending events, hosting events and providing information to the public for potential Fire candidates. It is my job to find new and innovative ways to get people interested, trained, and prepared to potentially become Firefighters and EMT’s as well as come up with retention ideas to keep Firefighters.

I am a newly promoted Captain on the Saint Paul Fire Department. I also serve as the EMS Academy and community engagement coordinator. As a Captain I am responsible for myself, my crew, and the station. On fire scenes if I am first to arrive I will make tactical decisions based on my findings. That can include extinguishing the Fire, victim rescue, ventilation, crew safety, or other tasks assigned. As the EMS Academy coordinator I maintain and build partnerships with local schools and businesses as well as complete grading, exams and administrative work for students while teaching some days. The is a free EMT class we offer that has free tuition, books, uniforms and testing fees. We also offer financial literacy and skills training with Regions. As the community engagement I partner with community organizations and members to provide fire safety education and free CPR training to help bridge the gap in fire and Ems education with the public
